6 Reasons You Should Try Group Travel

With the inclusion of Have Fun Do Good under the Pack Up + Go brand, we are thrilled to finally offer group travel.

Many of you have been asking for a group travel option for years, but some of you may have questions about what it is and how it works. Allow us to share some of the reasons we think you should give group travel a try.

First off, what is group travel?

Group travel with Have Fun Do Good means you’re signing up for a trip to a known destination, but you will be joining a group of like-minded people from around the country. Think of it as a short + sweet study abroad program, but in the US, and with the added bonus of volunteering to give back to the communities that support our incredible nature.

When you sign up for a trip with Have Fun Do Good, you’ll have the opportunity to explore new territories and create new memories with a small group of fun people. Traveling with others provides you with an unforgettable journey like no other.

Unlike traveling alone, going with a small group enables you to build strong connections with people, save loads of time on planning, and introduce yourself to new things. Group travel can also provide you with a strong support system and with memories you can share.

1. Build Relationships with New People

Traveling alone can be fun sometimes, but when you go by yourself, you most likely won’t build too many new relationships. When you travel in a small group with Have Fun Do Good, you’re automatically accompanied by new people. Everyone in the group will have their own unique stories that led you all to be in the same place at the same time. Group travel allows you to interact with and spend time with a diverse group of new individuals. Doing activities and spending time together will help you open up to each other and build strong friendships that (more often than not) last years beyond the trip.

2. Save Time on Planning

We all know that planning all the details of a trip can be a total b*tch. From finding flights, to hotels, to things to see and do, it’s never a fun process. Luckily, you don’t have to do all of that planning with group travel! Activities are planned out in advance and places to stay are already sorted out for you and the group! Plus, you’ll have Trip Leader with you along the way so that you can actually accomplish everything laid out on the itinerary.

3. Try New Things

As mentioned before, many activities are already planned out for you in group travel. In addition to that, another traveler in your group may have a fun suggestion for a new activity (if time permits). You’ll feel motivated and inspired to try new things that you may have never even thought of trying before. It can be anything from hiking up a new trail to listening to a new genre of music to trying a new kind of food!

4. Have a Strong Support System

One reason group travel is so great is that you’ll be surrounded by a strong support system. Hiking up a mountain but low-key scared of heights? Your group will be with you every step of the way and can help to give you that extra push or motivation! Your group can push you out of your comfort zone while being by your side the whole time.

5. Have Memories You Can Share

I don’t know about you, but there have been many times when I think something is funny only to realize I can’t tell anyone about it. Why? Because it was one of those “you had to be there” moments. Well, guess what? With group travel, your new friends from the trip will have been there with you throughout the whole thing. Traveling with a group means that you get to share your experiences with others. From trying new foods to exploring new places, everything is more fun when you have someone to share it with. You'll be able to bond over your adventures and create memories that you'll cherish for a lifetime. When you want to laugh at things that happened on the trip, you’ll have people to reminisce about those memories with.

You can sign up for your first (second, or third) group trip by yourself, with a friend, family member, or partner. The only requirement is to show up with an open mind, positive mindset, and can-do attitude.
