The renowned AAA Four Diamond award-winning Omni William Penn Hotel is a historic landmark elegantly renovated for the 21st-century traveler. Designed by renowned architects Benno Janssen + Franklin Abbott, the hotel was the last building venture of Henry Clay Frick, one of Pittsburgh’s wealthiest industrialists, and completed at a cost of $6 million. Frick envisioned the William Penn as Pittsburgh’s showplace, designed to rival the great hotels of Europe in Old World style and enhanced with the sophisticated technology offered by the 20th century. The stunning establishment has a classic soul + is filled with modern amenities.

The hotel is just steps away from the Convention Center, sporting and cultural venues and a variety of shopping. Adjacent to the Pittsburgh Metro Rail System, you will have the convenience to explore the city at ease with stops in Downtown, North Shore Stadiums and Station Square.

What to Expect:

A gorgeous neoclassical establishment that features many places to explore + restaurants for every appetite! The Palm Court lobby lounge serves traditional high tea, cocktails and small bites. Terrace Room is the award-winning main dining room featuring locally sourced cuisine. Local whiskey distiller, Wigle Whiskey, has recently opened a tasting room on the first floor! The Tap Room is the perfect place for beer, bourbon and burgers - and to watch your favorite sporting event. And, the Speakeasy!

Fun Facts:

  • The history! Designed in 1916 and backed by Henry Clay Frick, Omni William Penn Hotel has played host to movie stars, politicians, heads of state and leaders of business and industry. Each of the 597 guest rooms are graciously appointed and unique.

  • Don't miss the Speakeasy. Tucked under the lobby and used for storage for decades, reopened in 2012 (on prohibition repeal day) to serve craft cocktails. But, unlike in the prohibition era, you can come for a drink...no passwords required.

  • Every sitting president since Teddy Roosevelt has stayed at Omni William Penn Hotel.
