Arrivals + Departures is our monthly recap of amazing traveler photos and an inside look at where we're sending travelers. These travelers differ in where they come from, what their interests are, and where they want to stay, but are connected by their love of adventure. This month, we heard from trips from coast to coast — Newport, RI all the way to San Diego, CA, and everywhere in between.

traveler reviews

“We did a staycation in the northern part of San Diego county. We’ve lived in San Diego for years but never explored north county. The pandemic and this trip let us do that! It was a nicely planned trip, and if you don’t like planning but enjoy traveling and surprise, this is perfect for you.”

“It was so fun for us to open up our envelope the morning of our Staycation and learn what we were doing that day on the spot!

We stayed at the stunning Kimpton Hotel Allegro - it has one of the most beautiful lobbies I’ve ever been in! We also visited recommended spots like The Shedd Aquarium & The Hampton Social. As a part of our package, we had a dinner reservation at Pacific Standard Time, and tickets to a cocktail tasting experience at The Violet Hour! It was such a perfect day.

We loved exploring our own city in a new way!”

“My husband and I loved our minimoon! We were blown away by how personalized our itinerary was. As wheelchair users, we were really impressed by the accessibility of each place recommended in our itinerary. It can be really hard to travel to new places because it's hard to find accessible restaurants and activities, so it was incredible to have someone do all of that work for us and plan a fun, romantic, and accessible minimoon for us.”

“The thrill of not knowing where you’re going and not having to plan hardly anything is super appealing. So much fun to do with girlfriends while exploring a new city!

One of our travelers had a delayed flight. You guys were amazing in getting her on the very next flight available.”

I'm an avid travel planner, so my friends were skeptical when I told them about the Pack Up + Go Outdoors trip my husband and I had planned. I myself was surprised at how much my husband and I enjoyed all of the anticipation and fun we had leading up to the trip, looking at the clues and trying to guess where we might be going. We waited until the car was packed and facing down the driveway before opening our envelope to find out that we were going to Santa Fe!

He drove while I reviewed all of the great information that was included in our packet and we talked about which things we wanted to do while we were there. The guest house we stayed in was very nice with a gorgeous view off of the patio. We appreciated all of the great tips that Pack Up + Go gave us for dining, activities and day trips. The guided hike they booked for us with Outspire Tours was outstanding. I don't know if we would have planned a trip to Santa Fe on our own, but it was beautiful and we were so happy that by traveling with Pack Up + Go we got to experience it! Their customer service was excellent when we needed to contact them about some questions on the road, and throughout all of the booking process. We are definitely looking forward to our next Pack Up + Go adventure!

“We love having suggestions of which restaurants to go to because we often get bogged down in the reviews trying to make sure we find one worth our time. Because our Pack Up + Go packet restaurants recommendations are usually mentioned around other activities (just down the street from the museum) means that our day is well-spent and not wasted on decision making or travel time between different sides of town!”

“Overall, I highly recommend using Pack Up + Go. It was our first time using their services and they did an incredible job putting together our babymoon. The pace of our trip was exactly what we were looking for and we even discovered new places and we live in Chicago!

Plus, I was impressed with their constant communication and organization. It took the stress away from planning. The most work I did was filling out the travel questionnaire and travel preferences and they did it all. I also love that they considered that there is a pandemic going on and my pregnancy. They reached out a few times to see how far along I am and I appreciated that my safety was kept in mind when putting together the itinerary. I liked that they are available 24/7 if you ever need them.”

During this pandemic, Pack Up + Go sent us on a road trip with activities that were socially distant. The cottage they sent us to was completely isolated and wonderful! The itinerary was curated with our needs in mind. We appreciated that! We had a wonderful vacation!
