5 Ways That Travel Has Changed
Over the last year, the Travel Industry has undergone an immense transformation to provide enjoyable experiences while also keeping travelers safe.
We are so excited to plan a Surprise Trip for you and want to highlight some of the ways that travel may be different now than when you last took a vacation!

Hotels + Procedures:
As you travel, there are likely to be additional safety and hygiene procedures, such as available hand sanitizer or one-way flows of traffic. You may find that hotels and establishments have self-service check-in and/or check-out options to reduce contact with others. In many states and private businesses, wearing a mask that covers both your mouth and nose is required for entry.
Some businesses may ask for your name and phone number for contact tracing if there is a case reported at their business. Don’t be afraid to ask for clarification if you need help!
Business Hours:
Pack Up + Go is proud to showcase small businesses of all types on the itineraries included with each of our trips. These small businesses are working hard to create safe environments for visitors, while also adhering to COVID-19 best practices. Many small businesses have altered their business hours and may make further changes if a member of their team contracts COVID-19.
The Pack Up + Go Travel Planning Team is vetting recommendations included with your Surprise Trip, but be aware that hours may change after you have already received your Trip information. Prior to arrival at a given business, we always suggest that you call ahead to ensure that a recommended business is open.
Restrictions + Closures:
Destinations, small businesses, and other attractions are subject to restrictions passed on to them by federal, state, and local governments. These restrictions can change on short notice and may impact closures of available activities. If significant changes to restrictions are made prior to your Surprise Trip departure, the Pack Up + Go Traveler Support Team will reach out to you with available options for you.
Capacity:
Many state and local governments have imposed restrictions for capacity limits in restaurants, museums, shops, and other institutions. These capacity limits may mean there is less availability for tickets, and many attractions have introduced timed tickets that must be reserved or purchased ahead of time. We highly encourage you to secure your tickets prior to arrival at the venue.
While the Pack Up + Go Travel Planning Team will plan you at least one dinner reservation for your Trip, we recommend that you make additional reservations for specific restaurants if you are interested in visiting them during your stay. Please always be respectful of capacity limitations and cancel a reservation if you do not wish to go to the specific establishment.
Availability:
Some comforts, such as water fountains, dining areas, or specific seating areas may not be available in airports, restaurants, and attractions.
Many state and local government restrictions impact the availability of indoor dining or set strict limitations on capacity. Many restaurants have switched to digital menus, either on iPads or using QR codes that can be scanned using your personal cell phone. If you have a preference for indoor or outdoor seating during your Trip, please let our Travel Planning Team know on your Pre-Trip Survey.
Events and in-person entertainment options, such as live music, sports, and comedy clubs, are limited or not available in most destinations.
