LGBTQ-Owned Businesses We Love

We hope your Pride Month is off to a great start!

In order to continue celebrating, we’ve put together a list of just a few of our favorite LGBTQ-Owned businesses in different regions around the US. If you’re planning to take a trip to any of these destinations soon, you need to add these to your list. Supporting local and queer-owned businesses is just one way to continuously show support for your LGBTQ community and those communities across the country.

Lick Honest Ice Creams | Austin, TX

We’re starting off with the perfect spot for a cold summer treat. Lick Honest Ice Creams in Austin, TX is a must-visit for sweet tooths. Owners Anthony and Chad are serving up unique artisanal flavors made with locally sourced ingredients and no artificial fillers. Both coming from rural backgrounds, they have a shared deep appreciation and passion for homemade ice cream and natural ingredients. Be sure to try classic flavors like Texas Sheet Cake and Caramel Salt Lick and their seasonal offerings like Cilantro Lime and Orange You Glad It’s Pride! They also offer vegan and dairy-free options, so all taste buds are welcome.

Harold’s Haunt | Pittsburgh, PA

In the up-and-coming neighborhood Millvale, you’ll find Harold’s Haunt, a self-proclaimed “they-bar” with witchy vibes and a calendar full of events. Co-owner Athena Flint’s mission holds inclusivity, intentionality, and safety above all else. Harold’s Haunt has a wide menu, including nonalcoholic beverages, and even hosts sober events for patrons who choose not to partake in hard libations and/or prefer not to engage with inebriated patrons. Check out their calendar and you’re sure to find an event up your alley like trivia night, shop pop-ups, and watch parties.

Address: 142 Grant Avenue Millvale, PA 15209

Biang Biang Noodles | Seattle, WA

For one of the best Chinese restaurants you’ll ever encounter, head to Biang Biang Noodles in Seattle, WA. Owners Sia and Alison opened for business in the Capitol Hill neighborhood in June of 2020 amidst the COVID pandemic. Initially only offering takeout, the team faced even more difficulties than most restaurants do when getting off the ground. Since then, they have persevered and manage to sell over 60 pounds of noodles per day! The restaurant is inspired by Alison and Sia’s backgrounds as Chinese-American immigrants and their rich familial backgrounds in traditional cultural cuisine. There are vegan options aplenty and they pride themselves on keeping the food affordable and the portions ample.

Address: 601 E Pike St Unit 100 Seattle, WA 98122

Hours: Sun-Thu: 11:30 AM-9 PM, Fri-Sat: 11:30 AM-9:30 PM

Amilinda | Milwaukee, WI

For a truly elevated dining experience, book a table at Amilinda in Milwaukee, WI. Executive chef, Gregory, crafts weekly menus inspired by Spanish and Portuguese cuisine, alongside specialities from the Iberian Peninsula. The atmosphere is distinctly modern with influences from Spain’s and Portugal’s artistic styles. Though the menu is in constant rotation, you can expect succulent mains with seasonal produce all designed by Gregory and his masterful culinary experience. If you can’t make it for dinner, they offer takeout during lunchtime.
